3D Letters
3D letters are what most people picture when they think of signage: dimensional lettering that casts a shadow and changes as you walk past. The depth is the design decision — too shallow and it reads flat, too deep and it looks clumsy.

Choosing the depth

Depth is judged against the surface behind it. On a textured brick wall, a deeper letter reads better; on a flush glass wall, a shallow letter looks cleaner.
Material and lighting options
- Painted metal: any brand colour, satin or matte, the most common specification
- Brushed or mirror stainless: the metal forms the look rather than the paint
- Acrylic: cleanest glow when illuminated, also available non-illuminated
- Front-lit, backlit (halo) or non-illuminated builds
- Gold and champagne plating for a premium accent
Send the logo, the letter height and a photo of the wall. We will recommend a depth, a finish and a fixing method, and show all three on the approval drawing.
Summary
3D lettering is a depth decision before it is a finish decision. Match the return to the letter height and the surface behind it, choose the material for the light the sign will be seen in, and set out the fixings on a template.

What is the difference between 3D letters and channel letters?
Channel letters are 3D letters that are illuminated, with a metal return and a face. Non-illuminated 3D letters use the same construction without the LED modules and wiring.
How do I choose the right depth for 3D letters?
Roughly: 10–20 mm for interior letters up to 20 cm, 30–40 mm for shopfront letters of 20–40 cm, and 50 mm and above for large facade lettering.
What is your minimum order quantity?
