Mirror Finish Signs
A mirror finish makes a small logo feel architectural and a large one feel like part of the building. It is also the finish that reveals every flaw in the wall behind it and every fingerprint on its surface. This page covers where it works and how to specify it properly.

What a mirror finish does to a sign
A mirror finish reflects its surroundings instead of showing a colour of its own. On a calm interior wall that produces a clean, high-end look. On a busy street the same letters reflect traffic, sky and passers-by, which can make the logo hard to resolve.
- Strongest indoors, in daylight, seen head-on
- Weaker on facades where reflections compete with the sign
- Shows fingerprints and cleaning marks; keep it out of touching range
- Reflects the wall behind it, so an uneven wall becomes part of the design
Specifying mirror letters
- Polish grade: a full mirror polish costs more than a bright satin finish
- Edge treatment: edges must match the face, or they read as a dull outline
- Fixing: concealed studs give the cleanest result; visible fixings break the reflection
- Depth: 10–20 mm for interior logos, 30–40 mm for larger letters
- Protection: peelable film until installation, soft-cloth cleaning afterwards
If the sign is outdoors and seen from an angle, we usually recommend brushed stainless for the same design. Send a site photo and we will say which finish holds the design better.

Is a mirror finish suitable for outdoor signage?
It can be, but it is less effective in daylight because it reflects its surroundings instead of standing out. On exposed facades we usually recommend brushed stainless; mirror works well under canopies and on sheltered elevations.
How do I keep mirror letters clean?
Warm soapy water and a soft microfibre cloth, then a dry polish. Avoid abrasive pads and solvents, and keep the sign out of regular touching range so fingerprints do not become the design.
What is your minimum order quantity?
